New Year’s Resolutions to support local in 2026!
Happy new year! I absolutely love this time of year. The fresh slate, the new calendar and planner, and the endless possibilities.
I have always been lit up by personal growth. I’m one of those new year’s people who writes down my goals, posts them in my office, and I reference them weekly. Between Christmas and New Years, I take the time to reflect on the year that has past, and the year that is to come. I set my annual goals for myself personally, and I also set my annual business goals.
I also like to choose a word to focus on for the year. In 2026, I landed on “Intention”. Intention with my time, with balance in my life, with the people I surround myself with. Intention with what I plant each spring and considering what it is I need from the farm this year. In 2026, Intention also means scaling back on our farm business and what we offer.
In 2026, I’m leaning heavily into our veggie plant sale, with more veggie options than I’ve ever offered before. My greenhouse will continue to be packed full of plants this spring. My seed catalogs are stacking up, and I’ll be ordering seeds in the next couple weeks.
We are also continuing our signature product, our 4 Week Harvest Bags in 2026. Think of this as a CSA without the CSA commitment of 16 weeks of produce.
I do intend to offer our famous cinnamon and caramel rolls again during our offseason, however it will be less frequent than it has in the past.
Additionally, I am taking my 2026 word of Intention into my shopping habits. Here are some of my goals to support locally this year:
Visit a new local restaurant or coffee shop each month.
Purchase any birthday gifts from local stores.
When on vacation, support local stores as much as possible.
Supporting local farms in your area will never go out of style! Whether you purchase your summer produce from a farmers market, or you get a CSA from a local farmer, or you go to a you-pick berry patch or orchard…this is keeping your money right in your neighborhood. Stronger local businesses will inevitably result in a stronger community.
Wishing you a healthy, happy, and intentional 2026!
